Why ordinary silage film lets spoilage in
Standard polyethylene (PE) film is a physical cover, but it is not a true oxygen barrier. Over weeks and months, oxygen slowly passes through the plastic and creeps in at the edges. Oxygen is exactly what spoilage yeasts and moulds need: it heats the surface, eats into the dry matter and turns feed you paid to grow and harvest into waste you have to throw away.

Getting the best results
A barrier film only works as well as the clamp underneath it. Fill and compact quickly, seal as soon as filling is finished, and weight the cover so there are no gaps.
